3 Vintage Anchor Hocking Grapes and Leaves Glass Snack Sets

I found these 3 Vintage Anchor Hocking Grapes and Leaves Glass Snack Sets at a flea market in Sebastopol, California. The couple selling them said that they were just the last box out of over 20 boxes that their parents had bought and used for several years.

These mid century glass snack sets were all the rage in their day. Many of these dandy little sets featured an ashtray right there on the plate - so you could smoke while you enjoy your sandwich and potato chips I guess. Apparently it wasn't enough that you were stuck in a car full of smoke with the windows up, or that the people in line at the grocery store were smoking and putting their cigarette butts out in the ashtray mounted to the cart :-).

The sets come complete with a sandwich plate and a matching cup. The pattern features a clear glass body with wonderfully embossed grape clusters and leaves.

These 1960's Anchor Hocking snack sets are still in their original box and are unused - there were four, but a cup was broken along the way - leaving a full set of 3. All are free of chips, cracks, crazing, staining, or discoloration.

The plates measure 11" x 6 3/4" | the cups measure 2 1/4" tall.
